Robert "Bobby" Clay Taylor

Robert “Bobby” Clay Taylor, 58, of Harrells, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023. 

Bobby was born on April 6, 1964, to Dale Dew Jernigan and the late Clay Taylor. He married Joan Taylor on November 9th, 1984 and they celebrated 38 wonderful and loving years together. 

Bobby’s life will forever be cherished in the lives of his family: wife, Joan Taylor, children, James Taylor, and Matthew Taylor, and wife Brianna,  Elisabeth Ownbey, and husband Daniel,  Zella Wright, mother, Dale Dew Jernigan and husband, Jimmie, brother, Alexander Taylor and wife Jessica, grandson, Asher Taylor, and a host of nieces, and nephews. 

Bobby is preceded in death by his father Clay Taylor. 

Although Joan was the love of his life, his grandson, Asher, was the light of his life. His favorite word to hear was “papa”. He also looked forward to spoiling his expectant granddaughter, Lillian. 

Bobby retired from Goodyear after 31 years of hard work. He loved cooking a variety of meals to share with his family. When he wasn’t spending time with his family he enjoyed hunting, fishing, or riding his motorcycle on a beautiful, sunny day. 

His influence will forever remain in the lives of those who knew him. 

A funeral Service will be held at Colly Chapel Church, Harrells, NC, on Friday, March 17th at 12:00 pm, preceded by a visitation at 11:00 am. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Reverend Jim Woodruff and Pastor David Dew will be officiating the service.
