Thelma (Edge) Davis

Mrs. Thelma Davis, 88, of 1561 Davis Road, Garland, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at her residence.

Thelma was born October 12, 1934, in Bladen County to the late Craven and Harriette Smith Edge. She enjoyed a long career as a Seamstress at the Garland Shirt Factory. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband: William Thomas Davis, two brothers: Claude Edge; Tommy Edge, and one sister: Mary Herring.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 14, 2023, at Friendship Baptist Church, 5879 Bull St., Garland. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Rev. Gary McMillan and Rev. Frances Daniels will be officiating the service.

Thelma leaves to cherish her memory one daughter: Louann New of Garland, two sons: Bill Davis of Garland; Mike Davis of Garland, one brother: Ray Edge of Garland, 7 grandchildren: Gary Davis and wife Tonya; Tina Clark and husband Chris; Blake New and wife Kelli; Derek Davis and wife Tiffany; Sara Davis; April New; Josh Carr and wife Kayla, 13 great-grandchildren: Ashley Meshaw (Austin); Haley Meshaw (Logan); Cameron New; Hunter Clark and wife Darcey; Cody Clark; London Davis; Kayla Rand and husband Colton; Gary Alan Davis; Johanna Parker; Jessi Campbell and husband Dakota; Lincoln Davis; Zack Carr; Gabe Carr, 10 great-great grandchildren: Jade Wallace; Jaxson Wallace; Lena Rand; Leah Rand; Royalte Smith; Laylin Parker; Drake Batten; Jace Campbell; Malichi Campbell; and Liam Garbati.

A viewing will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023,  from 6:00-8:00 PM, at Carter Funeral Home in Garland.
