Thomas Ivey Mitchell

Mr. Thomas Ivey Mitchell, 82, of 7712 Wildcat Rd., Harrells, NC, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the Lower Cape Fear Lifecare Center in Whiteville, NC.

Mr. Mitchell was born May 21, 1940, in Lenoir County North Carolina the son of the late Dock Thomas Mitchell and Rose Ella Ivey Mitchell.  Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra Louise Mitchell, sister, Katie Peyton, and brothers, James Edward Mitchell and William Earl Mitchell.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 24, 2023, at Harmony Presbyterian Church 7460 Wildcat Rd., Harrells, NC by the Reverend David Chestnutt.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Mitchell is survived by his wife, Frances Gurley Mitchell, one daughter, Angela Dyas and husband Steven of Salem, Oregon, two sons, Claude T. Mitchell and wife, Kim of Mt. Olive, Jeffery Mitchell and wife Charlotte of Dunn, 5 grandchildren, Alan, Breanna, Leigh, John, and Samuel, 1 great-grandchild, one brother, Durwood Lee Mitchell of Clinton, five sisters, Frances Wells of Clinton, Rachel Shaw of Ivanhoe, Susan Godsey of Florida, Iris Riggs of St. Petersburg, Florida, and Margaret Sealey of Little River, S.C.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 24, 2023, from 10:00 AM-10:50 A.M. at the church before the service.
