Wilbert "Jake" Jacobs

Mr. Wilbert “Jake” Jacobs, 75, of 1106 Hemingway Chapel Rd. 1 E, Conway, SC, formerly a resident of Newburgh, New York, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024, at Conway Medical Center in Conway, S.C.

Wilbert was born September 16, 1948, in Harnett County, NC, to the late Mary Howard Jacobs and her husband, William Earnest Jacobs. In addition to his parents, Wilbert is preceded in death by one son: Michael Jacobs, and one granddaughter: Asia Jacobs, and three sisters: Ethlene Herring, Bertha Newkirk, and Nettie Williams. Wilbert enjoyed two careers before retiring, one as a Carpenter, and the other as a Truck Driver. While living in Newburgh, Wilbert worshipped at Ebenezer Baptist Church, he later moved to Fayetteville, NC, where he continued worship with New BenSalem Missionary Baptist Church, in Highfalls, NC, under Pastor Richard Bethea. Shortly thereafter he became a resident of Conway, SC.  

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 02, 2024, at Carter Funeral Home, 111 N. Ingold Ave., Garland, NC. Interment to follow in the Garland Community Cemetery, Hill Circle Road, Garland, NC. The service will be officiated by Pastor Richard Bethea.

Wilbert is survived by his ex-wife: Linda (Jacobs) Lewis, his children:  Angela M. (Jacobs) Jones, Kelly R. Jacobs, Kimberly Y. Jacobs, and Kisha S. Jacobs, his brothers: James, Frank, Charles, Harvey Lee, his sister: Zelma Jacobs, along with that, 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and countless cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A Viewing will be held on Friday, March 01, 2024, from 1:00-6:00 PM, with the family present from 5:00-6:00 PM, at Carter Funeral Home, 111 N. Ingold Ave., Garland, NC.
