Willie Henry Boykin

Mr. Willie Henry Boykin, 79, of 120 Southwood Drive, Clinton, formerly of Garland, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at Sampson Regional Medical Center, in Clinton.

Mr. Boykin was born May 14, 1944, in Bladen County to the late Maddie James and Queen Ester Boykin.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, December 02, 2023, at Mt. Elam Missionary Baptist Church, 6869 NC Hwy. 210 W., Garland, NC. Interment to follow in the Murphy Family Cemetery, 928 Garland Airport Road, Garland, NC. Dr. Reverend Shari Herring will be officiating the service.

He was preceded in death by 4 sisters: Beatrice Murphy, Ossie Ruth Bennett, Versie Melvin, and Tillie Jane Boykin, 2 brothers: James “Bubba” Boykin, and James Oscar Boykin, and 1 great-granddaughter: Kween Highsmith.

He is survived by 1 daughter: Alfredia Highsmith, 2 grandsons: Kwame Highsmith, and Tyrise Highsmith-Hall, all of Elizabethtown, and 1 great-granddaughter: Amirah Robinson of Garland, a special niece: Sharon Swift, who took care of him, and a host of other nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held on Friday, December 01, 2023, from 1:00-6:00 PM, at Carter Funeral Home, 111 N. Ingold Ave., Garland, NC.
