We are so sorry to learn of Mr. Barnes passing. Our staff just learned of it this morning (Aug. 15). We would have certainly come to the visitation and expressed our sympathy to you in person had we known. Please know of our thoughts and prayer for you during this time of loss for you the family. We are grateful for his Christ-like service and leadership through the years at Faith Baptist Church. (Cindy Buffaloe staff member at Raleigh Baptist Association)

When we came to Cary in 1971 we got to know the Barnes family. The children were small and visiting in their home was a wonderful experience. When Brother Barnes was called into the ministry we celebrated his calling and have watched his ministry at Faith Baptist Church over the years. What a wonderful man of God!

He has been a faithful witness for our heavenly Father and has spent his time studying God's Word to ensure he could "rightly divide the Word" as he shared with his flock/congregation!

As a Gideon I have been in Brother Barnes presence in his office and in his church many times and always appreciated his reliance on prayer and his capability to make good decisions and guide individuals in their walk with the Lord. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Elizabeth and all the family as they experience this separation. Just know he is rejoicing continually in the Lord's presence. He left a great example for living our lives here on earth! We count it a real blessing to have labored in the vineyard with Brother Lalon!

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Pastor Barnes. I always loved to see his smiling face and hear him proclaim God's Word when I traveled from Oklahoma to North Carolina to visit my parents. My prayers are with the many family and friends. At least we can rejoice that he is now in the presence of the Lord he loved and shared so much. May God be glorified and honored even in Pastor Barnes' homecoming. Prayers are being lifted up here in Oklahoma.
