Jeffrey Todd Merritt

Jeffrey “Jeff” Todd Merritt, 59, of Elizabethtown, NC, passed away on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

Jeff was born in Sanford, North Carolina, the son of Kenneth Merritt and the late Vickie Millenbaugh.

Jeff worked in the logging and chipping business for most of his life after graduating. He could run or fix just about any piece of equipment but especially loved driving trucks to haul logs and chips. He also had a love for NASCAR and all types of racing.

He is survived by his father, Kenneth Merritt; his stepmother, Sheila Merritt; his son, Brandon Merritt, wife Gabrielle, and their children; his daughter, Mayson Merritt; his brother, Destone Merritt; and his sister, Kayla Tatum and husband TJ. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. 

Jeff will be remembered for his big smile, happiness, and friendliness to all.
